The Last of Us Part 1 – Tess Showcased in New Graphical Comparison

The comparison highlights improvements made to the facial animation, textures, hair and much more over the 2013 classic.

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 1 will remake the acclaimed 2013 action-adventure title from the ground up for current-gen hardware. Revamped visuals include changes to the character models, as seen with Joel and Ellie. In a new tweet, the developer has showcased Tess, comparing her classic and remade looks.

Everything has been significantly improved upon, from the hair and facial animation to the skin and clothing textures (which is no small feat considering how good the original looked). Of course, along with better graphics, fans can expect “modernized” gameplay, improved controls and enhanced combat and exploration. The accessibility options have also been expanded.

The Last of Us Part 1 is out on September 2nd for PS5 and costs $70 (with a PC version also confirmed but not yet dated). You can check out the pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Edition details here. Stay tuned for more gameplay in the coming months.
