After months of relentless leaks and rumours, Nintendo have finally announced the new and upgraded Nintendo Switch model. Called the Nintendo Switch OLED, it has a lot of the features and specs that were previously mentioned in leaks– though some key upgrades, it seems, were leaked inaccurately.

The Nintendo Switch OLED will have a 7-inch OLED screen, as opposed to the 6.2 inches of the base Nintendo Switch and the 5.5 inches of the Nintendo Switch Lite. Meanwhile, Nintendo is touting audio enhancements, and true to the leaks, a built-in LAN port. Also true to the reports, the new model has a new wide and adjustable backstand, similar to the Surface.

Meanwhile, the tablet and the dock also have a new, slightly modified design. Curiously enough, contrary to what pretty much all the leaks have been insisting on for months, the Nintendo Switch OLED does not have 4K functionalities or DLSS implementation.

The Nintendo Switch OLED is out on October 8, the same day that Metroid Dread releases. It will retail for $349.99. The base Nintendo Switch currently costs $299.99, while the Switch Lite costs $199.99.
