The Elder Scrolls 6: Bethesda Will Not Say Anything About It Before They Formally Reveal It

Which, I suppose, is par for the course for the company.

There is one thing that one must always credit Bethesda for- they never formally announce their games until they are very close to release, and once their games are announced, they are always announced with release dates, without any further delays. This was the case with 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. And it was the case with Fallout 4 last year, too.

The downside of this is that even when we know that a new Bethesda game is coming, Bethesda themselves will hold off on even acknowledging that game’s existence until the last possible minute, when they announce it on their own terms. This leads to years and years’ worth of speculation and discussion on just what their new games might even entail.

That was the case with Fallout 4– and it appears that that will also be the case with the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6. Speaking on Twitter, Bethesda’s Pete Hines confirmed that the company has no plans on discussing anything about the game until they formally announce it- and given how they don’t announce games until they are close to release, and how Elder Scrolls 6 is, by Bethesda’s own admission, years away from release, it seems like we may be in for a long wait here, folks.
