Ys 9: Monstrum Nox may not have received a native PS5 launch yet, but it is, of course, playable on the console via backward compatibility. Now, the RPG’s latest update has made the experience on the next-gen console a little bit shinier.

Update 1.02 for the game recently went live, and for the most part, it fixes minor issues. There is one major improvement that’s been made however, which is the addition of support for 4K resolution for those who’re playing the game on a PS5.

Ys 9: Monstrum Nox is currently available on PS4. It launches for Nintendo Switch and PC on July 6, while a Stadia version is also in the pipeline.

In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Ys IX: Monstrum Nox brings a wide array of impressive gameplay elements in concert with a wonderful cast of characters to make an exhilarating, thoughtful package that’s one of the series’ best.” You can read our full review through here.

UPDATE NOTES:

  • Added support for 4k resolution for PS5.
  • Fixed an issue where the text speed setting wasn’t working as intended.
  • Fixed minor text issues.
  • Fixed minor graphical issues.
  • Fixed other minor issues.
